Welcome to Speysound Radio

Welcome to our Community Radio in the Highlands.

Since Speysound started broadcasting 15 years ago, initially as Ski FM, it has shared air time with MFR in Inverness. We are now at a very exciting point in our development. We've been granted a Community Radio Licence and will be given our own frequency in the very near future. We are only a few months away from it.

Because our transmitter is situated at the top of the funicular railway on Cairngorm Mountain, 1097 metres above sea level and 14 Km away from our Studio in Aviemore, our coverage is massive. You can see that on the map below. The transmission reaches the orange circle very well and the outer black circle on a weak signal but still with good quality depending on the receiver.

Would you like to join us?
We have programmes covering a range of tastes - mostly music, some covering community events and local celebrities. But we always welcome fresh ideas and suggestions. We are staffed almost entirely by volunteers and we need presenters, technical people, marketing advisers, general supporters to name but a few. Interested? Give us a call on 01479 811888 or email us on the contact link.
