I work as a policeman in Aviemore, a job I have done and enjoyed for almost 30 years. Got into Speysound a couple of years ago after being interviewed with regards my other hobby, ameteur dramatics, where I have met some great people and found some great friends and boy!! do we have fun, have a look at www.showboaters.co.uk. to see what we get up to.
Now I broadcast on a Sunday night from 7- 10pm playing something for everyone.
Hi all - I am Carole MacDonald, I am originally from the Glasgow area but have lived in the Highlands for many more years than I care to remember. Despite my youthful looks I am hurtling towards my mid 40's (yes I know hard to believe!). If I had to describe myself in 3 words I'd say redhead, grumpy and off the wall (can't count either!). I spend my time, when I am not on Speysound Radio, tap dancing, riding my lovely horse and looking after my demanding family!
Hi I am Colin and have been with Speysound since 1993. At present I work at one of the local sawmills and after 40 years in music biz I love weekends off.
7pm-9pm Monday is my spot on speysound and I am always looking for people to take part, this could be to promote your new music tell us how to keep fit you name it you might like to pick some music or pay a visit to the studio. All welcome drop me a line and let get this show on the road, looking forward to hearing from you.
We've been around for almost a year already - can you believe it?
Emma Macdonald and Becky Ferguson - The Girls on Speysound. Bringing you all sorts of tunes - except ABBA!!
We joined in June 2008 when we took over half an hour of Malky's show on a Monday night... and then we were offered our own slot. Since then Becks has had a wee break to have baby Maisie Rose, but she'll soon be back... and is still here in spirit... and in the jingles!
Emma has had a few substitutes along the way including Fiona, Keira and Lorraine.
Listen to us on Wednesday nights and most Saturday mornings!!
Happily retired from 36 years of Physics teaching, I'm now well over 630 programmes of Folk 'n' That since a nervous start back in '97 (?). The aim each Wednesday is to include new and topical folk material ensuring the presence of big and small and uillean pipes, good guitar, gaelic song, male/ female/ group song and instrumental - mainly Scots and Irish but lots of other stuff too! ....and the " 'n' That " bit gives a bit of licence to get away with anything else I fancy which I trust you'll enjoy. That pattern is gladly broken when there are recorded concerts to bring or live studio guests - I've even been known to sing and play on air myself! Oh Dear!
Hi, I am Sherie, I currently live in Aviemore but was brought up in Grantown-on-Spey. I recently started with Speysound Radio and am absolutely loving it. I work as a Learning and Development Trainer with a local business. I have a love of writing poetry, photography and most evenings can be found at the gym or walking the local walks with my trusted companion Tazzy.
I love my music, it keeps me young and I vow to always know what is Number One in the charts
You can contact me direct by e-mail on shezb@live.co.uk or on the station's number 01479 811888
HELLO
They asked me to write something here, so I did...
Douglas studied French horn and piano at the Royal college of music in London, and went on to play horn in the Reid orchestra and the Asemi proffessional orchestra run by Edinburgh university. Douglas was also the founder of the Edinburgh wind quartet giving concerts from Lerwick to Newton Stewart.
Now presenting his classics for pleasure show on a Thursday night, he includes works by lesser known composers
I am the Minister in Kingussie Parish Church, married to Bill, with two grown up daughters, a dog and a cat. When I was younger I looked like the Vicar of Dibley, and once I was mistaken for her at the Chelsea Flower Show!
I was employed as an on-air counsellor for the Open Line Show on Radio Forth in Edinburgh, listening to callers' problems and trying to offer advice and sympathy.
We came to live in Badenoch & Strathspey 20 years ago, and 10 years ago - along with several other presenters - I produced the Bridge, a religious programme on a Sunday evening. But I wanted a change, so this year have moved to Wednesday with "Community Rodeo".
